When people sign up for our newsletter in the bookshop I often assure them that I don’t email TOO often so won’t be filling up their in box. I think this year I have taken that promise to the extreme – possibly way too much ! I actually see now that I am on the site that I have not sent you fine people an update on events and daily life at the bookstore since March! Sorry about that! Not to make an excuse, but I think with the daily posts I do on social media for our Chatting Books Online book recommendations every day I feel like I am in such constant contact I don’t have to send the email but I do actually know that some of the audience for our email newsletter does not browse social media so those folks may be missing out on our fantastic events at The Conundrum. I solemnly vow to TRY to do better.
So what’s been going on around the bookshop? As I said earlier I post a book recommendation every day on Facebook & Instagram so that keeps me pretty busy reading – please follow along @conundrumbooks and feel free to comment on the posts , I love to hear from you.
We still have authors coming through quite regularly and I have two very exciting signings to announce later in this newsletter so keep on reading.
We are entering our busy season for in-store, in town , and at off site events. Later this weekend we will welcome visitors to St Francisville for the annual Yellow Leaf Art Festival, The Conundrum Bookshop will have a pop-up shop in the tents at The Louisiana Book Festival in Baton Rouge, and Hayley Arceneaux will join us Sunday afternoon to sign both editions of her memoir Wild Ride (did you know she now has a special edition adapted for young readers ?) – and all of that is just THIS Weekend!
November will also bring big events with book signings, small business Saturday and of course Black Friday . And then as always the first weekend of December will bring throngs of folks and holiday cheer during the annual Christmas in the Country Weekend when we will celebrate our 8th anniversary as your bookstore (can you even believe it has been 8 years ?!?!)
So come on out and see us this weekend , follow along on social media and keep on reading !
