In this book Santa is back up North in his house made of ice but his reindeer are slacking on the job. Someone has a splinter, someone else a sprained hoof, you get the picture. And Santa himself is quite chilly so they decide after searching the world over to more to the Louisiana Bayou to warm up a bit. The problem is even there the reindeer are too slow and have trouble flying in the terrible rains we get here so Santa doesn't know what to do until he looks up and sees Gaston the Alligator sailing through the treetops super fast and as graceful as anything. Well this gives old Santa an idea and he gathers up 7 more gators and gets Gaston to teach them to fly too. Not so easy at first but eventually they catch on, and they live happily ever after....
