With all of us celebrating a locked down Easter this Sunday , and all of our birthdays , anniversaries, etc at home these days I thought I would share my favorite cookbook for meals that look elegant and beautiful but actually are quite easy and don’t really take much time . For that I turn to Julia Reed’s South . Julia is an expert on entertaining and making tables beautiful so it should come as no surprise that the photos in this book are exquisite. What may come as a surprise is that she somehow finds a way to do this without spending the entire day chopping and prepping - and the food is simply delicious. Some of my favorites are the Green Goddess Soup with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat (divine ), and the Shrimp Malarca, but honestly I have yet to cook anything in this book that I did not enjoy . And did I mention the pictures are lovely and will carry you away ? (Oh yeah I think I did) . This book sells for $50.
